Lauderhill Sur Take 4

FAMILIA!!! We just found out that Sister Meiling and I will be staying in Lauderhill Sur for another transfer!!! I'm so glad. I am not ready to leave this place yet. It is the best. NEWS OF THE WEEK!!!: One of our investigators FINALLY accepted baptism. He is this teeny tiny Mexican man named Salahazier. We love him. He received and answer to his prayers and he told us he wants to be baptized. He said that he prayed to know if God wanted him to be baptized and he felt a pressure in his heart. Sister Meiling and I were freaking out. We told him that is the Spirit. He said "Si. Yo se. Yo quiero bautisarme. Ya. I know. I want to be baptized." WOOHOOO! Sister Meiling and I have been working so hard to find people and nothing has worked out with our own finding efforts. I know the Lord compensated us with this wonderful member referral. He is a gem. In other news, things are going well. Missionary work is hard, but I'm starting to really love it. There are hard days, but I'm starting to feel a little more comfortable with Spanish and even knocking doors. We get to meet a lot of really cool people and have experiences every day that help us learn and grow. I know I have a lot of room for improvement, but things are good. The Lord is helping me a lot.
Uh, here are some pictures.
1. Somos cholas. We work in some ghetto-y places and we stick out like sore thumbs, but they are always surprised when we can speak Spanish. I love the look of shock on there face when we say "Somos representantes de JesuCristo."

2. Honduranian babies. I'm never closer to breaking a mission rule than when I am around these cute little kids. I just want to hug them! This family saved our bacon the other day. We were way out in the middle of no where with our bikes, and they came out and gave us a ride. Hermano Vinan strapped our bikes to the car and Hermana Vinan fed us some awesome Honduranian food.

3. Hermana Salazar. She is one of the strongest women I know. I love her, and I love that SHE loves to feed us Columbian food.

I love these people so much, and I am so grateful that I get to stay here for another transfer. I'm not ready to leave.

Love you guys mucho. Thanks for being so awesome.
Hermana Gardner
