Hey Family! There is not much to report on this week. Remember David and Jairo? Turns out their desires for meeting with us were not baptism, so we had to drop them. It was so sad because they were so prepared. We were so excited to teach them. Boys are pretty dumb no matter which country they are from. We've mostly been out tracting a lot. We're trying to find people because we only have a few investigators. Want to hear how funny it is? We are teaching a woman, Emily, who straight up told us she doesn't think the Book of Mormon is true. It's so frustrating because she loves the Book of Mormon. She read it as a teenager and loved it. We just can't get her to understand why there is another book of scripture. She thinks the Book of Mormon is good, but she doesn't believe it is true. She is so cool though. She feels more like a friend than an investigator and I don't know what to do about that. We are also teaching a young girl, Alejandra. She is from Columbia. She doesn't believe in God or Jesus Christ. HAHA I don't know why she keeps letting us come back, but we're hoping that God will touch her heart. What a sad life! I can't imagine not believing in God and Jesus Christ. We also met a really cool part member family. It was really a miracle. We went to go check up on a referral in a far corner of our area. When we got there, we found out it was the wrong address. We didn't want to waste a bunch of miles, so we decided to stop by some members out there and some less actives. Nobody was home until the very last one--The Salazar Family. We came in and started talking to the Sister Salazar, who is less active. She started tearing up when she told us that she had been praying for a way to come back to church. She said she had prayed for God to send the missionaries to her and THERE WE WERE! It was so great. She introduced us to her husband who is not a member. He is a riot. They are from Columbia, but he made references to Abraham Lincoln and Elvis Presley while we were they. He is, basically, the coolest. When his wife introduced us to him I said, "So, your wife just told us that you want to be baptized. We're so excited." He laughed so hard. We invited him to be baptized two more times, but he didn't accept. I kind of think of him as what dad would be like as an investigator. He knows it's true, but doesn't want to talk about it because he'd have to talk about his feelings. He avoids all the questions we ask with sarcasm and humor. How can we baptize him, dad? What would it take you to get baptized as an adult? No sarcasm please. We've got enough of that. Anyway, that's about it. Here are some pictures to remember me by. Sister Daines and I NOT DRIVING in the car.
Sister Daines admiring my beautiful hair. This our Sunday study spot. There we iguanas there yesterday. Florida is weird.
Anyway, les quiero mucho. Espero que todo este bien. Dios les ama.
