February 24, 2014

Family,

Well, my laptop is a little silly, so no pictures this week. I'll try to make things entertaining still...we'll see.

WEDNESDAY: WE had interviews with President. It's always fun and a little scary. It was nice though. I asked him why I was in YSA. I said that I've always been a little awkward, and I really just didn't understand why I was here. HAHA he told me I wasn't awkward! It's official everyone. Tell all your friends. Sister Gardner Pants is not awkward. He said that I have a talent for drawing people out. I'm still trying to figure out what that means, but I'M NOT AWKWARD. Hooray!

THURSDAY: We are teaching this guy named Steve. He is pretty cool. He is dealing with a lot of stuff and is just struggling staying happy. It was really cool though. On Thursday, we were able to go see him. We taught about Jesus Christ and the Atonement. He said the prayer at the end, and he had a total countenance change. We asked him how he felt, and he said, "You know what? I feel a lot better. Really." I loved that. It's real, that power that God has.

Also, THURSDAY: We've got this really cool recent convert, Sanjay. If it wasn't for him, we'd starve to death. He feeds us regularly. Anyway, we were just talking about his conversion the other day. He told us that he was baptized because he wanted to follow Jesus Christ. He says that sometimes it's hard to live his new life, but he is a lot "more happier." SO HAPPY. I love hearing that people can see the difference the gospel makes.

SATURDAY: Got word through the grape vine that Juan was baptized!! I've been on cloud nine all week. Alma 29: 14-16. I've got joy like that. So nice.

SUNDAY: Gave my first talk as a missionary. Sister Schneider said I did good, but she said my neck got really red. Curse this rosey complexion of mine. I talked about the Book of Mormon and how we need to apply it to our lives. It went well. I just keep chanting what President said in my head "You aren't awkward, Sister Gardner." I beleive it...I do.

Well, those are the highlights. Things are good overall. I love being a missionary. I love being a missionary in YSA. I feel like I just get to hang out with a bunch of really cool people all the time and talk about my favorite thing--Heavenly Father! A member made us pumpkin chiffon( I dunno how to spell that) pie yesterday. Sister Schneider and I ate...most of it...on the back of our car after church yesterday. Life is good. I love missionary work!

Transfers are next week, so I'll be on here again on Tuesday. We'll see what happens. This is going to be Sister Schneider's last transfer, so we'll probably be staying together and I'll be killin' her off. We'll see though.

I love you mucho! Remember that God does too.

Hermana Gardner Pantalones.
