Mi Familia Linda,
Wow. This week has been crazy. I feel like I say that every week, but this week has been nuts. Every single thing that could have gone wrong during the week went wrong, BUT come Saturday evening, things ran smoothly.
The Cornely kids finally got baptized. We are so very happy. They are so cool. I really feel like they are just my long lost crazy/nerdy/cool friends. Did I tell you that they have a figurine of Gollum in their house? Well, they do. You can push a button and it talks to you too. I love being at their house. I have loved teaching them.
(You may notice that I look disgusting in these pictures. Well, we had biked all day in the crazy heat/humidity. I just had to keep reminding myself: this is not about me. As long as the kids are happy, who cares?).
This is them with their adorable mom. She is the coolest. When I hurt my back a while ago, she was the one I went to for advice. She is getting her nursing degree right now. I love her so much.
Like I mentioned, we have been on bikes a lot this week. It's alright though because we have a member family that lives in the area we are working in. The Gaminara Family, the one that I skyped from. They help us out so much. This is their son. He says that he likes my hat. :) That makes one of us.
Anyway, things are going well. one of our awesome investigators came to church and wants to be baptized. He is this awesome Colombian guy named Oscar. He is a hoot. He showed up to church in a cowboy hat and bolo tie. It is funny because he has to go back to Columbia for a week, and he is so sad to miss the 4th of July. HAHA he is more patriotic than I am.
That's about it for this week. We have transfers next week, so my P-day will be next Tuesday. Anything could happen...AAAAHHH!!! Family, I love you all so much. Thank you so much for all the love and support that you give me. From the sounds of it, there is a lot of crazy stuff happening back home. Forest fires we are used to, but earthquakes? What the?! Just hang on until I get home. There better be an Arizona to go back to. I got a package from Mom in the mail with a bag from Bashas. It says something like " Your Arizona Grocer". I can't bring myself to throw it away. Sometimes I forget that I'm not in Arizona. It's weird. ANYWAY, I love you all so much. I'm learning a lot about how important it is to stay close to the prophet and his teachings. He won't lead you astray.
Family, I love you! Keep on keeping on!
Hermana Gardner
